POLICIES
Clear expectations, so you can relax into the work.
A few important things to know before we begin. These keep our work together smooth, safe, and centered on your child. This page is a summary — full details live in your intake forms.
Payment & insurance
Fees are due at the time of service, with a card kept securely on file. I'm out-of-network and don't bill insurance directly, but I can provide a monthly superbill for possible PPO reimbursement. You may request a Good Faith Estimate at any time under the No Surprises Act.
Parental consent
To work with your child, I need written consent from each caregiver with legal custody. In some situations I may ask for a copy of your custody agreement. If your family's circumstances are unusual, let me know and we'll talk through your options.
A guardian stays nearby
For child sessions, a legal guardian should be present and reachable for the full session — in case of an emergency, a disruption, or a moment that calls for a parent. Please keep this in mind when scheduling.
Helping sessions go well
Before each session, a fed, rested child with a little downtime participates best. For virtual visits, set your child up with their supplies in a private, quiet space (headphones help), and keep interruptions for emergencies only.
48-hour cancellation
Please give at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less notice, or missed, are charged the full fee. When my schedule allows, I'll do my best to offer a same-week reschedule instead.
Confidentiality & its limits
Your child's privacy is protected — it's what helps them feel safe to open up. I keep you informed about progress and concerns while holding details in confidence. As a mandated reporter, I must act if there's a credible risk of harm to your child or another person.
Separation & court neutrality
Therapy is a safe space for children to process change — not a tool for legal proceedings. To protect your child's trust, I don't take part in custody disputes, mediation, or court. My focus stays entirely on your child's wellbeing.
Sliding scale
A limited number of reduced-fee spots may be available. Availability can't be guaranteed, but please ask — I'll always be honest about what's open.
This page isn't comprehensive. Your intake forms contain the full policies, and you're always welcome to ask me anything before we begin.
