Getting Started
How do I know if my child needs therapy?
Changes in mood, sleep, behavior, school, or friendships can be signs. You don't need a crisis or a diagnosis — if something feels off, the free consultation is a gentle way to talk it through.
What happens in the first session?
We usually begin with a parent-only intake so I can understand your child's world and your goals.
What ages do you work with?
My specialty is children and preteens, adults, and parents
Do you provide services in another language?
Yes. Spanish is my first language. Your child and family are welcome to do the entire process in español.
Process & Fees
How long is therapy?
Most children and adults attend weekly sessions for a few months. We’ll set goals together and gradually reduce the frequency of sessions as those goals are met. And if new challenges arise later, I’m always here to help.
How much does it cost?
The first 20-minute consultation is free.
Therapy sessions are $225 / 50 minutes.
Groups: $800 / 8 sessions
Parent coaching program: $150 / 30 min
Do you accept insurance?
No, I'm an out-of-network provider. Payment is by credit card or check.
Can sessions be virtual?
Yes — telehealth across California, and in-person in our San Ramon Office.
In-person sessions are highly recommended for children.
For Parents
Do parents take part in sessions?
Yes, when it’s helpful. Parents and caregivers may join sessions at times, and we’ll schedule regular check-ins to make sure you have the guidance and support you need to help your child at home.
What’s the difference between therapy and parent coaching?
Therapy offers a deeper, ongoing space to understand what’s behind a child’s or family’s challenges and build meaningful, lasting change over time. Parent coaching is a focused, short-term option that gives you practical strategies for a specific concern. We’ll choose the approach that best fits your family’s needs.
How can I help my child get the most from therapy?
Keep it simple: a snack, a bathroom break, and a little downtime before therapy can help your child feel comfortable and ready to connect.
Confidentiality
Is my child's therapy confidential?
Yes — children have a right to confidentiality too, and it's what helps them feel safe to open up. I'll keep you informed about progress and any pressing concerns while protecting your child's trust.
What are the limits of confidentiality?
As a mandated reporter, I'm legally required to act if there's reasonable suspicion of harm to a child or vulnerable person, or a credible safety risk. I'll explain these clearly before we begin, so there are no surprises.
What do you share with me as the parent?
I keep you updated on progress, themes, and how to support your child, while holding the details of what your child shares in confidence. We agree on how this balance works together at the start.
